Abstract

This article summarizes the experiences of a new library director who, having overseen the implementation of a new library in Florida in 1997, did the same in North Carolina 2004 (for the same academic institution). It includes a general description of some of the challenges and describes the broad pattern of thinking that went into creating the second library (located in Charlotte).
