Abstract

Libraries are again facing a current budget shortfall. University of North Carolina system libraries are currently preparing for up to 30% decline in state support. State aid to public libraries is currently reduced by ten percent. At the same time friends group donations are at lowered levels. Libraries are also currently experiencing record growth in patron demand of their collections and facilities.
