There are so many tales that can be told, but thinking about the future of our past, I think that tonight, I’ll tell you a story about “Shocco” Jones. Joseph Sewell Jones was born around 1806 in Warren County, along the banks of Shocco Creek. His father was a fairly well-to-do planter and his mother was the niece of one of North Carolina’s leading statesmen, Nathaniel Macon
